Sakha National Broadcasting Company is one of the largest regional television and radio broadcasting companies in Russia. Since 2010 NVK Sakha has been an active member of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAT).

The mission of the NVK "Sakha" is to promote the comprehensive and harmonious development of the individual by providing reliable and complete information about the political, economic, cultural and social life of the republic, country and the world; promoting the preservation of national identity, languages, traditions and customs, the traditional way of life of the peoples of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), as well as their spiritual development, promotion and dissemination of cultures; expansion of television and radio broadcasting in various environments and access to the Russian and international level.

The Sakha National Broadcasting Company was established by Decree of the President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) on March 3, 1992 and is the legal successor of the State Committee of the Yakut ASSR on Television and Radio Broadcasting (Decree of the President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) No. 86 of March 3, 1992). 37 branches and offices of the company operate in all 34 districts and uluses of the republic, as well as in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Khabarovsk and Beijing. Programs of NVK "Sakha" are broadcast throughout the territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Television audience coverage is 99.7% of the population of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), radio audience is 98% of the population. NVK “Sakha” has broadcasting licenses on the NVK “Sakha” and “Sakha24” TV channels, as well as on the radio stations “Radio Sakha” (“Sakha araadiyata”) and “Yakutsoke Radio” (“Sakha sirin araadiyata”). Broadcasting is carried out in two state languages of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia): Russian and Yakut, as well as in the languages of the indigenous peoples of the North - Even, Evenki, Yukagir.

In recent years, NVK Sakha has carried out serious work to strengthen the material and technical base and increase the creative potential of the team. A large-scale modernization of production allowed NVK Sakha to move to a new quality level of television and radio broadcasting.

11.11.11 - this date will forever go down in the history of Yakut television. On this day, three significant events took place: the completion of the reconstruction of the editorial building, the launch of the Novosti hardware and studio block and the hardware and software block. It was these events that became the basis, material and technical basis for entering round-the-clock broadcasting. On October 8, 2013, the building of a new studio pavilion with an area of more than 300 square meters was put into operation. In the next two years, work was underway to equip the new hardware-studio block (ASB-5) with modern high-quality equipment. On September 21, 2015, the hardware-studio block was put into operation.

2013 is an anniversary year in the history of Yakut television. As part of the anniversary, on October 8, a square and a monument to our glorious countryman, journalist, Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolai Alekseevich Kondakov were opened in the company. On November 1, 2013, a round-the-clock channel Sakha 24 was launched in the capital, which is aimed at an urban audience. Today “Sakha24” broadcasts in industrial areas and cities of Neryungri, Mirny, Lensk, Aldan. The audience of our TV channels is expanding. As opinion polls show, more than 60% of the population of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) receives information about the life and activities of the republic through our channel.

November 7, 2015 marks the 85th anniversary of the Yakut radio broadcasting. It all started with the words familiar to everyone since childhood: “Yakutsk speaks”, which were first heard in the Yakut and Russian languages on November 7, 1930. On the air of the Yakut radio broadcasting, the first program was broadcast with the participation of prominent statesmen of Yakutia. For the organization of broadcasting, the task was given "to install, in addition to the city of Yakutsk, in the villages of Namtsy, Pokrovsk, Oktemtsy, Tabaga, at least 15 loudspeakers." This date is considered the birthday of Yakut radio broadcasting.

Today, the republican radio is one of the most efficient mass media in Yakutia and is the only radio channel operating throughout the republic.
