A 17-year-old boy has been arrested over the killing of Elianne Andam a 15-year-old stabbed in the neck with a foot-long knife near the Whitgift shopping centre in Croydon a witness said.

The mayor of London has said the community is "shocked, traumatised and heartbroken" by the death of Elianne Andam but added he is "seeing the benefits" of investment in violence reduction programmes.
