RTL 102.5 TV is an Italian thematic television broadcaster that retransmits the audio signal of the RTL 102.5 radio with the addition of live footage from the studios and music videos, adapted to the radio version of the song; in the absence of an official video, a montage of previous videos by the artist is broadcast or, for the songs put into rotation from autumn 2012 onwards, a sequence of images of her among those posted on the related social network profiles.

RTL 102.5 TV was born in 2000, with the name of 102.5 Hit Channel, based on the web messages that arrive from the site, with the aim of creating a reference network for the younger generations. The first DJ to present to the public is DJ Ringo, with a broadcast entirely dedicated to rock music.

In June 2002 RTL 102.5 signs an agreement with Claudio Cecchetto, appointing him artistic director of the radio and television channel. Thus begins the cycle that will characterize 102.5 Hit Channel until 2005. The very first thing Cecchetto does is to eliminate any reference to the mother radio, and so the supermedia will be known simply by the name of Hit Channel. Then he goes to explore other radio stations in search of young radio talent. This is how Vanessa Incontrada, Alan Palmieri (current director of Radionorba), Sophia Santori, Oliver Dawson, Mirko Mengozzi (currently on Radio Italia) and many others come to host the channel, upsetting the whole schedule.

In 2004 Cecchetto leaves Hit Channel, Gaetano Puglisi takes his place and before 2005 no significant change will be made in the broadcaster. In May 2005 RTL 102.5 decides to make an epochal change to Hit Channel, to kick-start the radiovisual project and raise the ratings, which had dropped significantly in the last period. It starts with turning all the frequencies of the radio-TV to the same RTL. Then it is decided to change the name of the TV to RTL 102.5 Hit Channel, which will be changed to RTL 102.5 Radiotelevisione and finally to the current RTL 102.5 TV.

On September 4, 2006 the radiovision project starts, with some tests, in fact only two programs are provisionally broadcast (Miseria and Nobiltà, and the Suite 102.5), complete with radio commercials and an hourly newspaper. The tests recorded excellent ratings and then in 2007 RTL 102.5 decided to gradually extend its entire programming on TV. Simultaneous programs are aired until midnight, then resume at 6 in the morning. In August RTL 102.5 goes on the air from Reggio Calabria and the contemporary one stops until 2010. Some jingles announcing total radiovision starting from September began to spread on the daily rotation of the TV. From now on, all programs broadcast on the radio (with some exceptions) are also broadcast on the television channel. Since August 2011, the radiovision has also been broadcasting live from Reggio Calabria.

From 14 November 2011 the channel switches to the 16:9 widescreen format and the jingles are renewed. Since November 4, 2013, the font of the song titles and messages that appear on the screen has also changed.

On October 20, 2016, its "HDTV" copy was added to the TIMB 1 mux, although it continues to broadcast in SDTV.

In January 2017, the HD version on satellite was added to the LCN Tivùsat and Sky Italia, even if it broadcasts in forced HD.

On September 19, the HD version on satellite broadcasts the Power Hits Summer 2017 event in native HD. At the end of the event, go back to broadcasting in forced HD.

From February 2018, the definitive broadcasts in native HD on satellite will begin.

The jingles are renewed in May 2018.

From 1 December 2020, the channel, together with Radiofreccia and Radio Zeta, will broadcast on digital terrestrial only in high definition.

All programs on the RTL 102.5 schedule, all editions of the timetable and traffic information (ViaRadio) are broadcast simultaneously on radio and TV. Also during the news a roll with news in brief is provided. From 9 April 2018, even the radio commercials are broadcast simultaneously on radio-TV, definitively completing the radio vision.

RTL 102.5 TV is broadcast on satellite, on digital terrestrial and on the web in streaming: on the Sky platform it is broadcast unencrypted on channel 736; on the Tivùsat platform and on DTT (mux TIMB 1) it is broadcast unencrypted on channels 36 and 536.
