About channel Афонтово (Красноярск)

Afontovo is a private television company in Krasnoyarsk, one of the most famous regional television brands in Russia. Since 2011, it has been part of the Unitmedia media holding.

In 1992, Dmitry Neklyudov, head of the radio and television service of the regional communications department, and his colleague Sergei Shirokov developed the idea of creating a single transmission center for small cable broadcasters on Channel 9. The director of the Atlantic cable studio, Alexander Karpov, became interested in the project. Later, the idea was reworked: instead of encoded broadcasting of programs, it was decided to make a television channel. Later, Irina Tretyakova and Sergey Kim joined this project.

Closed Joint Stock Company Afontovo was founded on April 2, 1992 by Alexander Karpov, who headed the company until 2003. In July 1992, trial broadcasts began on 9 TVKs. On March 15, 1993, the first issue of Afontovo News was released (officially, this date is considered the beginning of the channel's broadcasting), on April 2, 1993, broadcasting became regular. The channel's first studio was located in a bomb shelter (Prospekt Mira, 102) under the building of the regional communications department (now the department of the Federal Postal Service of the Krasnoyarsk Territory).

In 1994, the author's programs "Eva +", "36.6", "Sport Review" and others appeared on the channel. On September 5, the morning program "Morning coffee from Afontovo" was launched (the first regional morning program in Russia). In February 1995, NTV broadcast was launched on 22 TVKs. On April 2, 1995, the TV company moved to a new building on 60 Years of October Street (now - Afontovsky lane, 7). In connection with the relocation of the TV company to the building at the address "st. 60 Let Oktyabrya, 44a”, the lane adjacent to this building was named Afontovsky (the building itself received the address “Afontovsky lane, 7”). This name contradicts the geography of Krasnoyarsk, since Afontova Gora is located on the other side of the Yenisei. In the 1990s, Afontovo broadcast clips from the American music channel MTV and foreign films, and the brand itself was actively promoted by local product manufacturers.

October 29, 1995, a fire broke out at the Afontovo transmitter, which interrupted the broadcast of Afontovo channel 9 (for a week), channel 22 (for a month), as well as Afontovo radio at 73.28 VHF.

In August 1996, Radio Afontovo was launched at a frequency of 101.3 FM.

From December 1998 to November 1999, the Afontovo television company financed the construction of its own, the first non-state broadcasting center in Russia, on Nikolaevskaya Sopka. On December 10, 1999, broadcasting was started from a new transmission center.

December 20, 1999, in addition to the Morning Coffee program, the evening interactive channel Coffee in the Evening was launched on the Afontovo-9 channel. Since February 5, 2001, a new “seamless” on-air network of evening broadcasting “New Evening at Afontovo” has been built around it.

In the autumn of 2001, on the basis of the Afontovo transmission center, rebroadcasting of TV-6 (hereinafter referred to as TVS, the Sport TV channel) was launched on 32 TVKs. By 2002, the ratings of "Afontovo-9" fell from second place to fourth. The channel's main competitor was TVK. The channel was restyled and returned to the previous name "Afontovo".

On March 10, 2002, Radio Afontovo was reformatted into the First Striped Radio Zebra and changed its frequency to 105.2 FM.

In 2003, the TV channel switched to server broadcasting technology. A new studio pavilion appeared, from where the programs "Morning Coffee", "By the Floors!", "Optimal Option", "From half past six", "The main thing with Sergey Kim" came out. After Alexander Karpov left the post, Sergey Kim became the General Director, later - the Chairman of the Board of Directors. On September 5, 2005, the Afontovo channel switched to independent broadcasting. From 2007 to 2010, Valery Sidorov was the General Director and Editor-in-Chief.

July 5, 2010, at a meeting of the heads of departments of Afontovo, it was announced that August 31 was the last day of the channel's broadcast in its previous form: Afontovo was to switch to the exclusive retransmission of the new network partner of the TV channel TV-3. All projects and programs were closed. The majority of non-technical personnel (according to various estimates, from 150 to 400 people) fell under the reduction[8]. The channel continued broadcasting until October 22, 2010. Most of the programs (Morning Coffee, Main with Sergey Kim, Web Express, Dela, Transmission, Network Viewer, etc.) closed or switched to other local channels earlier than this. In September, the Afontovo site was closed "for reconstruction". In October, the staff of Afontovo News, the only program that continued to air until the channel closed, was greatly reduced. On October 22, 2010 (this day can be considered the date of termination of existence) at 20:30, the last issue of the Afontovo News program was released - a mini-film about the history of the television company and Novosti. Immediately after the broadcast of this program (at 21:00), the channel switched to the exclusive retransmission of its network partner (TV-3).

After this date, broadcasting continued until October 31, with a full rebroadcast of the network partner (TV-3) and without a logo. Local programs were no longer aired, but only a running line of ads, a plate with a clock and temperature in the lower right corner of the screen (without a triangular arrow on the left), a TV newspaper, and local advertising blocks remained on the air. On November 1, 2010, broadcasting, even in this form, was finally stopped, after which, the \"TV-3\" channel was completely clear, but without local advertising. From September 2014 to 2016, the broadcast of the news ticker was resumed. From May 2015 to the present, local advertising has also resumed.

April 11, 2011, the brand, technical base, receiving and transmitting center, domain name and archives of the Afontovo TV company, as well as the ad receiving point "Announcement Center" were transferred to a new owner - the Unitmedia holding. Initially, by the autumn of the same year, it was planned to resume broadcasting the channel on cable networks. On June 30, 2011, the holding announced its decision to launch Afontovo on the frequency of its ORTV channel. After this launch, it was planned to launch a cable version of the channel with self-programming.

The new TV channel was created on the basis of ORTV, while retaining its staff and network partner ("Russia-24"). Several million rubles were spent on the transformation of ORTV into Afontovo-Novosti. On October 10, 2011 at 17:00, the Afontovo-Novosti TV channel was launched on the ORTV frequency.

At the end of April 2012, a cable channel with self-programming "Afontovo in Red" was launched (April-August 2012 - test broadcasting, "Afontovo-9", August-September 2012 - "Afontovo").

In August 2013, the director of the Afontovo-Novosti channel, Irina Tretyakova, together with part of the team, switched to the Yenisei TV channel. Sergey Litvinov became the new director of the channel, before that he was the director of the information service. Afontovo TV company was headed by Alexei Semyonov.

In October 2013, the Unitmedia holding bought out the former Afontovo building at 7 Afontovsky Lane. On November 3, 2013, the first live broadcast from this building took place on the Afontovo in Red channel.

In March 2014, Danila Yusma became the head of the Afontovo TV company.

From May 1, 2014, the Afontovo on-air channel switched to independent broadcasting, the cable version completely duplicated it.

On June 1, 2014, a new season began on the Afontovo TV channel. The cable version is combined with the broadcast channel.

Since June 16, 2014, the channel has been broadcasting again from the building on Afontovsky lane.
