Gang Assaults Hong Kong Newspaper Printing Plant

A Hong Kong newspaper that has been critical of Beijing was ransacked, Monday, April 12, as seen on CCTV footage released by the newspaper, the Epoch Times.

The assault comes as China begins a sweeping crackdown against Hong Kong critics.

The Epoch Times said the gang of four masked men threatened violence against those inside as they damaged the paper’s printing press.

The paper is linked to the Falun Gong, a spiritual movement that is banned in mainland China. It has published scathing pieces about China’s government and was a staunch supporter of former U.S. president Donald Trump. (AFP)
